Islandora Webinar: Restricting Repository Content

Repositories regularly manage embargoed content to accommodate access right restrictions and sensitive materials.  Islandora provides an easy to use tool to manage how specific groups of users access content and have restrictions applied on the collection, object and file levels. Learn how to apply and manage this functionality during our next webinar titled, Restricting Repository Content on November 23 at 12 pm EDT .

Islandora leverages the Extensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML) in Fedora Commons for embargoes. It’s a system for using XML conventions to address security and access protocols for the Web and other applications. It’s used in three modules called: 1) Islandora XACML editor, 2) Islandora Scholar Embargo, and 3) Islandora IP embargo.

discoverygarden senior developer, Dan Aitken will lead a session that focuses on restricting repository content using these modules and applying them to Drupal users and roles.

We look forward to having you join us for another informative discoverygarden webinar.

Warmest Regards,
~ the discoverygarden team
