Discoverygarden Webinar: Search Engine Optimization in Islandora

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the online visibility of a website in a web search engine's unpaid results. Islandora facilitates discovery in search engines using the Islandora XML Sitemap module and on federated searches (Google Scholar via configurations in the Islandora Scholar suite of modules, and WorldCat, DPLA, any aggregator through the Islandora OAI module). The exposure of Islandora objects through multiple methods (index, meta tags, OAI-PMH) makes it possible to make content available to users from locations where they are likely to originate their searches.

Join us on Wednesday April 25 at 12pm EST as discoverygarden’s Themer Morgan Dawe discusses search engine optimization and also how the theming layer in Drupal allows for additional SEO elements to be incorporated into your repository to meet your specific requirements.

All the best,
~ the discoverygarden team
